Definately some sort of cowrie. Try getting a photo of the shell. (while the snail is tucked in)

Reef safe? Aren't there only a few species that are truly reef safe?

Looks like an algae grazer, but I'm not 100% sure. I'd watch it and see if you can see it on anything else that you don't want it to touch.

The other option is that you can bring it over here and drop it in my tank.
