![]() I had the very same species of mantis for a year or so. She would come out of her cave to eat but that's about it. I rarely seen her moving about other than to get food I had put in the tank. She got along just fine with a fuzzy dwarf lionfish.

![]() yeah thats just like this one, nice colors but only comes out for food, otherwise hes in his cave, not sure what other types are active though, there tough to find in calgary

![]() G. smithii are generally more interactive but I would give the guy a chance. Usually they are shy at the start and once they warm up to your presence (which means food to them) and their new home they sometimes get more sociable.

![]() Yes...mine isn't the same species, but over the years he has become increasingly "friendly". (Not so friendly that I go sticking my hand in there too much) He comes out whenever he sees me near.
