Sorry but I have to ask.
If I have a Hair algae problem in one tank, and I move Cheato from that tank to another tank, do you think I will be bringing the algae with it?

I would guess so, or at least potentially so. Having said that, I've blasted chaeto with tapwater to clean it out (it's a great trap for detritus) when moving from one tank to another... and it lives through it so you could clean it if you thought it had hitchhiker spores or whatever of the "bad" algae..
