![]() im just trying to work out a rough estimate of how heavy the tank would be....then i can calculate the weight of the water, etc.
damn..i have no clue how thick the acrylic would be (for the calculator.lol) great link btw. thanks ![]() i know a glass 90 gallon tank is about 1040lbs when full... so should i just take 100lbs off of the glass weight to get a rough guesstimate? so around 950lbs? |

![]() I would also guesstimate that it's about half the weight of glass. My wife & I can easily move around the 160g acrylic but no way can she help me move the glass 110g. However, I don't think it's a 100lbs difference for 90g tanks.

![]() i jsut figured that a glass 55 gallon tank is around 80-90 lbs empty. so a tank a bit under half the side would be almost double the weight. altho im probably totally wrong.lol
would you choose glass or acrylic if you had the choice? |

![]() Glass for a reef tank (coraline algae will lead to lots of scratches when you try to keep the viewing panels clean) & plexi would be fine for a fowlr.
