Modifying MH

If you took an Aqualight PRO with 150 watt bulbs/ballast and changed both the bulb and ballast to 250 watt, would it work?,get too hot?

You'd also need to change the endcaps as well. I think the 250W bulbs is a bit longer and wider as well, but if you have the room for it, then why not.
