![]() The biggest thing to note when looking at T5 is the reflector makes it or breaks it. If you buy cheap reflectors you might as well have bought NO lights for your tank.
Also make sure you buy the HO bulbs. It looks like you are going to from your posts but had to post this just in case. ![]() |

![]() I am leaning toward the Tek reflector-looks good and reasonably priced.I've read comparisons with icecaps and it looks a close second.

![]() From what I have read on T-5 to get the best performance out of them you should consider individual reflectors. I use t-5 in a combo fixture and they don't have individual reflectors and I would rate them much the same as my PC on my other fixture.

![]() I've got the 4x39W Teklight above my 46 gallon bow (very similar dimensions as a 50 gallon).
I've got mainly LPS and some softies including orange ricordia. Nothing super light demanding, but everything's growing very well with excellent colour. To get the most bang without too much yellow, stick with the German-made Giesemann bulbs. I've got a Blue+ and three Aquablues. |

![]() Im running 4x T5's on a 30G and like them. But a word of advice an any floresent. Its best to mount them within 3" of the waterlevel,or you will lose alot of penatration reguardless if your using NO or HO.I dont remember where I found the information on that, but came across it while I was researching T5's before I bought mine.
hey 200 posts in 2 yrs ![]()
