Early on in the hobby, I put a live rock in a QT tank with copper. I think I was aware that this was not good for the rock, nor for the treatment, but I did it anyway
 . It was covered in paly's. So the polyps kinda disappeared, and at some point down the road, I chucked the rock back in the big tank. The paly's all came back, and I never had any problems in the big tank. So I answered, I haven't got a clue.
