Some of the pics in this and the RC thread are truly stunning. However, how often does one get that close to their tanks to appreciate these probably very expensive animals in such an intimate manner?

I kinda got on the zoo bandwagon fad for awhile. But in the end, unless the zoos were truly spectalar, they were just more small polyped corals.

Since selling all my zoos, I haven't gone goo-goo eyed for any particular family of corals. Well, maybe my BTAs could fit that bill, but there are only so many BTAs a person can keep in a 37g and a 67g and still have other corals to enjoy.

The arguement that chalices are too plain/boring or too expensive could be argued for any coral. Zoos, SPS alike... All have common plain brown specimens but can also be found with amazing and vibrant color morphs.

The point I'm trying to make is that this isn't a boring coral. In fact it is often overlooked. These corals are out there, but it's a matter of being the person who acknowledges their value and takes them home.
