Default Mag pumps vs Quiet One

i'm looking for 2 pumps. i was woundering if there any difference with the 2 pumps?
seems to me there are alot of ppl who use mag pumps are happy with it.

what about Quiet One pumps? i actually have their older model pumps and don't like it. had to do 2 rma on it. one cracked and the other was grinding the shaft.
has anyone had any problem with their new pumps?

i'm thinking to go with mag drive pumps
any pros and cons with these two pumps?

When I was determining which was the best pump for my return, my research showed the Mag to be loud and the Quiet One to be less reliable than some of the others available to me. So I went with the Poseidon.

I use both. No problems with either. The mag does seem to fun a little warmer if you are using it submerged and the quiet one is ........well........quieter.

I have been running a quiet one 4000 for awhile now, 16 months or so. Very quiet and reliable. I would not hesitate to buy one. A lot of good being said about the Mag pumps as well. I just picked up a Mag pump (thanks Rich) have yet to hook it up but when I get the time, I will let you know if there is much of a sound difference etc.
Quiet One on return
Mag on skimmer feed!

Mag pumps also use more electricity I think.

omg my pump just died....

whats a good turnover rate for a refugurim?

i was planning to get this for my main tank Quiet One 6000
and this for my refugurim Quiet One 3000

i have a 90 gallon tank. with 3 return lines should this be good enough flow?
Quiet One 3000 (55.96 each)
Pentair Aquatics 780 GPH
Quiet One 6000 (111.96 each)
Pentair Aquatics 1506 GPH
Mag 1200 (136.76 each)
E.G. Danner 1200 GPH
Mag 500 (71.96 each)
E.G. Danner 500 GPH

having some problem deciding which pump to get? quite one pumps are a little cheaper.
