Default Another skimmer help thread

I am just starting to shop for a skimmer for my new 300g cube and would like some feedback on skimmers. I have done a fair amount of research and also have personal experience with the bubble king. I am leaning towards going with another BK but just wonder if anyone has any experience with any of these other skimmers.

Don't know if no one has any experience with these skimmers or just doesn't have an opinion but FWIW I have decided to go with another Bubble King. These are amazing skimmers IMO. I had it boiled down between the BK and H&S but decided on the BK because I already know how they perform. Going with a 500 ext. this time around and will probably run it on my 230g until I get my new tank set up.

LOL that's why the new tank won't be set up for a while. I want to have an addition built complete with a fish/tank room. There is a real shortage of trades and trying to get a contractor to do this may take quite a while. If I could ever figure out how to post pictures I would but I am just too dense or something cause I just can't get it.

Since you mention fish room, have you considered running a common sump. Could you get by with the current skimmers ganged, or trade them in for a large single unit?

I have thought about running a common sump but probably won't - at least not for all my tanks. The reason is because right now I am running one system with zeovit, and so far it is going well, but I want to give this at least a year to see if I really want to keep on using this and if I do want to, am I prepared to use it on all my systems. The answer is probably not because I want to have different tanks and each will have different needs. I truly believe that a softie system actually does better with slightly higher nutrient level whereas a SPS system requires pristine, low nutrient water.
I don't think I will have to worry about trading up in skimmers - I will probably run the 190 and new 300 with a common sump and the skimmer I have on order will skim that and probably more. If anything I will probably be selling one or two of my existing skimmers.
