Default Xm 10,000k Se

Received it today ... fired it ... much brighter and less yellowish than Ushio... It gave a nice color along with my VHO-super actinic blue and 50/50 Coralife PC.

I purchased an XM and Ushio 10K 400 watt pretty much at the same time almost a year ago. I would have to agree with you. The XM was brighter and whiter and now that the bulbs are near the end of their useful period I would say the XM is still better. Based on experience and price, I would prefer the XM over the Ushio

Got it from DIYREEF. After I purchased the bulb on line, I found out that J&L is actually carrying XM bulbs (just not on their website)

I have an XM 10K right now running alongside a 20K on my 75. It used to be running alone. I love the color, and the growth response I've had from corals is amazing! Very crisp white light(till it hits about the 9 month mark), then its not as crisp white, but still white, no yellowing. At about the 11 month point, it then begins to show a really crappy white, but it is still white! This is my 400W SE, running off a PFO ballast.

Cheers,

Chris
