Default Ahhh, spring in Alberta

Got this in my email today... I don't know who the author is.
-->

When it's springtime in Alberta
And the gentle breezes blow,
About seventy miles an hour
And it's fifty-two below.
You can tell you're in Alberta
'cause the snow's up to your butt,
And you take a breath of springtime air
And your noseholes both freeze shut.
The weather here is wonderful,
So I guess I'll hang around,
I could never leave Alberta
My feet are frozen to the ground.

It's been snowing all day. (All day! Ugh.) I've got 4 inches of the stuff out where I live, and that's not counting the stuff that's melted already.

Oh well ... I hear it might be a balmy 9 by Sunday ... :(

Another storm last night, couldn't stand on the road to scrape the ice and snow off the car this morning... Kept losing my footing.

High today to be -2. Woo-hoo.

I wish someone would stop playing that "Springtime in Alberta" song.

Cheers! ;)

Oh is that a song? I honestly didn't know that. When that arrived in my email from my usual joke sources it was the first I had ever seen it. Who sings it?

I have no idea whether it's a real song or not, Tony, I was just musin' :D .

Seems like it may be a song, perhaps the Ian & Sylvia follow-up to "Four Strong Winds."

Remember that one? "Think I'll go out to Alberta, weather's good there in the fall..."

Yeah, right. And in the Spring, too... ;)

Sorry didn't have time to write. Was to busy putting sun screen on for the 1 and only day of spring so far. (Last week we actually had 18 - 20.

Gotta love Vancouver, Eh!

Cheers,
Patrick

Here we go again! 20 -30 cm of snow locally, more in the areas west of Calgary (40 cm and MORE). Travel is not advised; hope my company has a snow day clause...

Holy cats! Here's the view out the patio doors. Can you identify the shapes?

Fun, fun, fun! My neighbour came by in his monster quad and plowed the driveway. I need to shovel it again soon; about 4 inches have piled up since the last go-round.

Cheers,

Alan

(Tony - you at work today?)

Yeah, I went in (eventually) ... :(

I can't beleive how hard it is still coming down. It just doesn't stop!

... sigh ... I know there's no sense in getting mad about the weather, but, man, this is the most depressing spring I can recall.

I think I broke my back shovelling a 1' strip in my walk this morning. Hoo baby!
