![]() I honestly thought about working there when I finished uni. There or at Alias in Toronto.. I ended up doing some research in visualization in the area of kinesiology for UofC, but on a contract basis. When the opportunity presented itself to get a full-time job in an completely unrelated and uninteresting industry I took it, thinking I'd keep it for a year or two and pay off some debt, and go back to uni. and get the masters degree specializing in graphics and visualization and animation. BUT, 6.5 years later I am still working that crummy job and still paying off debt, and haven't touched anything to do with graphics or geometric modeling or rendering in years and years now. ... sigh ... shouldda just gone to California back then. Couldda shouldda wouldda.
PIXAR rocks! Over the years I've even met people who work there (thanks to the reefing hobby as a matter of fact! :D ), and they tell me it's everything you can imagine it to be, and more. So - moral of the story: don't be like me -- don't give up on that dream! I look back at the stuff I worked on 6-7 years ago and it was on the forefront in animation and modeling. Nowadays, stuff has grown so rapidly, the stuff I was working on is kids stuff. But I never get tired of seeing how these guys can push the envelope. Oh well. Am looking forward to this new movie big time! [ 24 April 2002, 09:13: Message edited by: delphinus ] |
