fish over the border

planning a trip into the states and am planning on bringing some fish back, just wondering if a cities permit is necessary for fish or just corals?

ive brought both back with no problems. not large qtys but just for my tank and no hassles at the border.

Just wondering but is it cheaper to buy fish and corals at LFS in the states?

i bought my clam for 35 bucks. colonies of corals range from 26 to 39.
for people not near van, it's cheaper than the local petstores.
