Default MH lights

Just my 2 bits... I think a 400W is going to give you a wonderful bright area in the middle dropping to a lower intensity at the ends... 2x400W would be extreme on a little tank like that... but 2 x 250 would be good... (make sure you have fans in the hood!) ... As for future upgrades... 250W is sufficient for tanks up to 24" deep...(or so popular opinion seems to be anyways...) I am currently running 2 x 250W 10,000K MH, 2x96W Pc Actinics, and 2 x10,000K PC's.... 900 W on a 6 foot long 135.... LOTS of light! Only guys I know that are running 400W are SPS guys.... (oops! and GALS)... with deeper tanks.
