Yes big water changes up to 30%, and if you can't afford an RO/DI at the moment then I would suggest buying some bottled water, Costco sells RO Polaris and it's cheap execpt for the $10 deposit

Lights out works, but it takes longer. Al-Gone takes about a week.

Alright, well thanks to everyone for their help I really appreciate. My water has just got clear this weekend after a long month. I was using water changes and then added in Algone, and finally on about wednesday this week I got a UV sterilizer. I am still waiting for my Protein Skimmer to show up (still on back order at Big Als). So if anyone else runs into this problem I think the thing that made the biggest difference was the UV sterilizer. THANK GOD THE GREEN IS GONE

Do you have caulerpa macro algae? The only time my water has ever gone green is when that stuff goes sexual. I hate that stuff so bad .
