Do maintenance on it weekly, including siphoning out detritus while doing a 15% water change. Pics of the crud we siphon out each week...

First pail of crud (siphoning out areas around the rock structurre):

Second pail of crud on right (turkey basting the crud from under the rock structure and moving it to the back of the tank, then siphon it out) compared to a pail of NSW:
