Default Prizm mod

There has been a couple of posts in regards to Prizm skimmers.
Here's a mod that is cheap, easy and has really increased the performance of the skimmer.

I take no credit for this, but I have done it and now I get great skimmate (is there such a thing?). Beautiful black gunk.

Would one of you guys be interested in hosting those pics? Seems we have to register and sign up and my email NEVER gets those registration confirmations.

That would be awesome.

I just picked up the adapter tonight, and have to wait till tomorrow to buy a longer piece of airline tubing.
The plumbing adapter was $6.98 at Home Depot.

Well I just did the mod and I can't turn the valve more than 1/2 on or I get a TON of micro bubbles ino my tank! Also I get a bit of drip from the top where my cup slides down onto the new extension. What am I doing wrong? Help. Thanks.

Hmm. I got mine cranked on full (ie at 12:00)
Before the mod, I could only turn it to about 10:30.
The 'slip on' upper connection worried my at first. But I have yet to see any traces of salt creep which would indicate a leak.

If you're leaking perhaps a wrap of teflon tape?

I haven't noticed any micro bubbles in my tank, but my skimmer is in my sump with a bubble trap before the exit.

Is you skimmer HOB of the tank itself?
