While the "honour" of being TOTM is something, it really doesn't mean as much considering the rather small population we have here. But Sam did just give me another thought... Why not have EVERYBODY do a TOTM?
(What the hell did he just say???)

Think about it. It would be an invaluable resource for newbies and a great collaborative effort. If we can get additional hosting (it doesn't seem fair to overburden Canreef further), it should be fairly easy to get up.

Here's what I'm thinking:
Everybody does the RC-style TOTM spiel for their tank. That is almost always divided up into
- preamble about what got them into the hobby
- tank equipment
- tank denizens
- maintenance schedule
- things they really like or really dislike about what they did
- plans for the future

If everybody who has a tank they'd be willing to share (I have dozens of DIY under-construction photos I took which might benefit someone who is considering building a stand or a surge or a really poorly thought out canopy), we could each take a ton of photos of our tanks and then select a spread that gives the overall view, the equipment, some "behind the scenes" shots of how the fish room is laid out or how maintenance gets accomplished, several closeups of prized specimens (preferably with some time in between, so say Bryan can show how much his acros have grown in the space of 6 months), and then maybe a few shots of John skinny dipping with the belugas that night at the aquarium (or did everybody leave early???)!

Just a thought.. Perhaps a bad one. Somehow I think it would be a tremendous resource for fresh blood in the hobby, though. Getting a tour of someone's entire system from conceptualization to deployment is a far better education that having some dweeb on RC tell you "u should use the search button or post pics of urself!".
