![]() Over the years I have lost at least a dozen fish from jumping. I recently had a wrasse that jumped out of the tank while I was feeding. I opened up the screen less than an inch. He got so excited he flew right out of the tank through the crack landed on the hardwood floor 5' down. Picked him up threw him back into the tank and he has never looked better.
A couple years ago I was walking in the living room and saw a green chromis on the floor. No idea when he got there. Picked him up threw him back into the tank. He laid there for a minute or two motionless and he came back to life. He is still alive. You can't kill a damsel. I have had smaller fish jump right through egg crate and die on the top of the egg crate. Must have a screen. I read about a product called Bananaquarium Fishguard that allows you to keep an open top and keep the fish from jumping. Haven't tried it haven't seen it don't know if it works. |
