|   Pro's They're easy AF. One less thing to contribute to old tank syndrome. You can get mad flow. Con's Obviously, asthetics. Harder to get a good rock foundation (though I use cement or epoxy to stabilize) You have to plan ahead and paint the bottom of the tank to avoid that ugly refraction through water and a perpendicular glass panel.

|   I will second what Albert says as he is my go-to person for anything and everything reef related. I enjoy my 20 gallon BB tank. The maintenance benefits alone make it worth it as I don't have to go hunting in the sand for detritus. For aesthetics, I keep alot of frags on the bottom so whether it's on sand or glass does not make a huge difference if I don't see it. This is a local reefer's barebottom tank.
