Not sure why it happens. I try to clean detritus out of colonies with a turkey baster but sometimes I forget for a while. Perhaps the build up leads to fungus of some sort. I notice the Furan dip gets a lot of crap off the polyps. It kinda floats off

I had good luck with Furan as well... Supposed to be for zoa pox. But i had a zoa colony on a large frag disc closed a section for a while and started melting. I checked and did not see anything on the polyps or indication it has zoa pox, id literally lose a polyp or two a day. So decided to soak it on furan after reading about it online. Next day some polyps still closed but noticed the tissue is not shrinking anymore. Did another dip the following day...
Then the polyp started opening again. Saved the frag this way.

Now i try to frag my zoas so if one section decided to melt i still have some left.

In my experience i notice, la lakers, fruit loops, blue hornet can melt sometimes
