You can check ion balance from the macroelements. I also use it to double check my test kits. I test everything I have a kit for with every brand I have at the same time I collect the Triton samples - I use this information to perform more accurate testing on my own and choose better test kits. Triton doesn't test KH or NO3 which is unfortunate though. Which decomposition elements are you referring to? Triton only tests for 32 elements - check their website for a list. ![]() Many years ago on Reef Central, one of the "specialists" (early Randy Holmes-Farley days where they had multiple "expert" forums including a biologist) arranged testing of a lot of tanks from the hobbyists and they found very high levels of many elements. I don't remember which ones specifically. (at my age, it's a given that I don't remember a lot of things)
