Tips to get stand level.

Well took it all apart today and brought it onto solid ground. Had a low point and fixed it. With just the stand on carpet I can rock the stand still, but It has to be the carpet so I'm out of ideas. Think I'll just have to run with it

Your going to end up with a flood. I read thru the entire thread and you seem to stubborn to listen to everyone's advice so good luck

Well when advise is don't try and fix the problem, just replace, of course I'm not going to listen. I'm not into just spending money like a mad man, I want to be able to fix what I already have. I've tried mist of the reasonable advise, I tried legs, I remade the bottom of the stand and it sits perfect on hard surface, just this darn carpet it won't sit perfect

If just the stand rocks on the carpet, just shim it until it is level. After all, if the stand is made out of steel professionally, it will not bend, i.e. it is strong.
I thought all along that the tank was rocking on the stand.

Well that's the thing, I think my carpet has to much give because the stand is level, but I can still shake it. I've tried just sticking shims around to see if I can eliminate any movement, but I'm alway left with a little. In my kitchen it all sat perfect, but where I'm trying to place it in the living room I'm having no such luck.

After having the tank sit with water it should compress the carpet and get rid of that give I'm getting, or is that not the case?

Somewhere I saw some plastic feet for under legs of couches on carpet to stop them leaving dents in the carpet. Flat on top and a bunch of spikes underneath that transfer the weight straight through to the subfloor. Big weight difference between couch and a full tank, perhaps a load of them evenly distributed?
My tank sits on carpet on just the perimeter of the stand and is perfectly stable. Perhaps you could put some long thin strips of wood underneath - they'll tend to sink into the carpet and reduce your wobble. As long as they are on top of, or cross over your joists you should be transferring the load to the joists and not relying on the subfloor.

A carpet is the same thickness across your whole room.
Its the floor below the carpet, or your kitchen is not level.
Anything can be levelled with shims

Oh and the carpet will crush/ flatten over time, reducing the wobble.

Also don't forget there is underlay below carpets, foam in other words, this is what is probably letting you shake the tank side to side.
