Well it's full & flowing at half the pump volume because I'm waiting for a replacement power supply for one of my WaveLine DC1000. ZERO plumbing leaks so I'm very very happy with that but I am going to have to add a balancing line to join the 2 return side together, not a big deal.

Next time you should bring her along.

Holey moley, I think you could have a future in plumbing.
Now if you could just attach electric solenoids to those gate valves and hook it up to a keyboard, you could play that thing like an organ. (not in a Monty Python way please)
Seriously, you're going to love the control of flow to different parts of your tank.
How do you remove the filter socks for cleaning?

Thanks Trevor, it's surprising how much silicone you can waste building a tank this size.

Being a welder you have to be able to do piping so it comes in handly.

The last piece of pipe on the OF is in glued in, just turn off the flow, pull out the down tube & pull out the filter sock.

wow grizz,

simply put, this is the tank that all of us reefers aspire to. The professionalism on that sump is incredible. I just have one question i can't figure out... I see 6 return pumps, though only two on each side are plumbed to return lines - it looks like the four pumps feed 8 separate return lines. What are the other two pumps for?

Thanks Monk, trying really hard to keep this build very neat & organized. You are correct the are 4 - DC10000 feeding the 8 returns. The 2 other pumps are DC5000 and will feed my chiller, 3 reactors & my 60 gal seahorse tank that is yet to come.
