I would look at the Ehiem compact line of pumps.... very good quality and adjustable......the 1000 or 2000 would probably fit the bill....

oh!....re-read everything and it sounds like you wanna run the pump externally.....if thats the case then the 1048 would be the one to go with(if you decide to go with an Ehiem)....I dont think the "compacts" are meant for external use....
