It is slower growing, but I pull it out of my tank as it uses up an enormous amount of calcium to grow and I dont fancy buying supplements so my macro algae can flourish ![]()

![]() It is a hard plant so the lawnmower blenny won't touch that. They usually only eat softer algaes.

![]() I guess it's one of those things that depends on the person if it is a good idea to take care of, much like mantis shrimps, hermit crabs, and mushrooms, xenia, bristle worm etc. If you don't mind dosing a bit more calcium they can be good I guess. The only thing that it seems like everyone agrees is bad are cyanos and hair algae.

![]() I think this is a good algae to have. Yes, it does pull some Ca from the water. However, it is also pulling some nutrients...so if you remove it, something else will find a way to use those nutrients and you may not like what grows in it's place.
