Now if you could fool the water into being saltier then you would have skimmer manufacturers beating a path to your door.

I agree ... more salt will marginally improver performance however you would have to raise the level too high to see any noticable difference.

That being said , after raising the limit too high all your fish and coral will be dead so your skimmer should have lots of skimate in it ....
