Would differing salinity change skimmer performance?
I know skimmers are pretty much useless in freshwater, and from test running mine in freshwater I noticed the bubble production is horrible compared to salt water.
I was wondering if keeping your salinity on the "high" side would improve skimmer performance at all? I noticed that many people prefer to have it on the higher side anyways. I imagine that it probably wouldn't be much of a difference, but figured I would ask you smart people anyways. |
Basically....Yes.

though don't think you'll notice much change in output from 1.025 to 1.026

Now if you could fool the water into being saltier then you would have skimmer manufacturers beating a path to your door.

That being said , after raising the limit too high all your fish and coral will be dead so your skimmer should have lots of skimate in it .... |
Haha, yeah that is what I kind of figured. Thanks everyone.
