Very cool pic. although I've never seen a lion fish with purple and blue colouration?? Is it a reflection from something else? or is it like Christy's tang that sometimes looks very purple but really it's blue? Just wondering.

The coloration is natural but not always easy to see. To get the picture I waited for the fish to spread its fins and be in a position where the light come through the fin from the back, then added a fill flash to capture all the colors. The edited picture has enhancements to make the color more defined.
