Awww, cute. Where'd you get them? I have a really good friend down in Acme who breeds lovies and several other types of birds. I bred and raised cockatiels from 2003 until last year. My last pair are heading off to BC after Easter.

Very cute. Are they sitting in a house plant? Do they stay together when they fly around?

We picked them up from Genesis Aviaries http://www.genesisaviaries.com/index1.html in Acme. We really wanted to get them from a breeder.

They are indeed sitting in a ficus. My wife was cleaning the cage so I was playing with them and they really wanted in the pant. They are a great pair, they were from two different clutches but have been together since birth. They are still really young only 10 weeks old but they were hand raised and fed so they are very tame. We didn't get them DNA sexed so we are not sure what they are.

They have been fairly quiet so far but we have only had them 3 days so they are still getting used to their new home.

Trust me I have had parrot type birds for over 20 years, the volume is still yet to come.....

I had a Senegal for a year. While he was in the care of a friend, he stopped eating and died mysteriously, the vet couldn't say what was wrong either... he was an incredible pet! Birds are amazing creatures!

That said, once I find a good home for the cat that is currently boarding in my apartment I'll be getting a pair of Pacific Parrotlets... I love the small parrots! I just don't feel I can trust a cat with birds, and the birds would likely be uncomfortable.

Beautiful lovebirds, and I guarantee that things will get loud... I had a single Senegal, and he was pretty loud just on his own! But rarely did it bother me, unless I stayed up late and then he woke up early in the morning. My fault, not his

And this is the first I've heard of someone owning a touraco. I've heard of them before, but never met anyone that had one. I looked at an African Starling in a store in Winnipeg, very cool looking bird... I think the larger non-parrot type birds are underestimated as interesting and rewarding pets.

That's awesome! I meant to put Acme, no idea why Airdrie came out. That'd be my good friend Sandi. She has several of my cockatiels. What a small world sometimes, lol.

It sure is a small world!

Sandi was so very helpful! She even met up with my wife in Calgary so we didn't have to drive out to Acme... allthough I think we will head out in May once they have thier greenhouse open up for the year.. and who knows... maybe come home with another bird or two.

Good looking birds Greg!

I'm sometimes amazed at the noise that can come out of my Gouldian finches, but I knew what I was getting into when I brought home my green wing Macaw... He's pretty good now though, except for if you have the nerve to walk in the door and not say hello to him.
