I tried the airstone mod to my old Seaclone. It made lots of bubbles, but unfortunately also spilled a gallon onto the floor while I was at work. That was the end of that experiment.

Use the limewood airstones and swap them once a month or so. There are some fine pore ceramic stones out there but I've never seen one that works as good as the limewood does.
