The tank is 36" deeps (wow) so I was wanting 400watts asherah

That's only the reflector - nothing else. And Mark is correct, the Lumenmax 2 is the new model that can HANDLE 400w MHs. You'll need to get ballasts and bulbs as well. I run Lumenmax 2 reflectors. There's nothing wrong with mogul (aka SE). In fact, you get more light out of SE bulbs because they don't require an extra glass shield that DE bulbs do. Some people prefer DE because the glass shield is easier to clean and the bulbs are smaller. |

![]() Plus, with 400w DE, you'll be very limited in your bulb choices since most makers don't have 400w DE bulbs available, whereas they all make the 250w version which as Fkshiu wrote, is by far the most popular among reefers.
