Beauty Clams Shao and Scott! Thanks for sharing the pics!

Now I only need a maxima to complete the collection of the common 4.... haha.

Where does everyone score these uncommon beauties all the time? I've never seen an uncommonly patterned clam at the LFS's here?

Chris

in the time i've been in the hobby, i've only seen 2 <2" gigas for sale...
and i bought one of them. [last year]

but then again, i dont get around to the shops like i used to. i know there are a few hobbyists out there with them as well.

though still uncommon, i'm not sure if they are as hard to come by as they once were.

as for uniquely patterned clams... you just got to be at the right place at the right time. as with all the corals, the nice ones get snatched up before most get a chance to see them.

but i gotta say, the selection of different color/patterned smaller maximas isnt what it used to be a few years ago. [then again, i could be wrong as i said, i dont get out to the shops much anymore.]

happy hunting!

Pet Boutique had some in last year before they went under I believe. There were some available in the Lower Mainland & if you wait a couple of years, I'm sure some of the surviving ones will be for sale as they outgrow their present tanks. Gigas get HUGE!!!

If I spot any, I'll let you know Ruth (unless of course I pick it up for myself hehe).

Very impressive there Shao!
Tho I wouldn't expect anything less from you
Also great to see ya posting again, I would luv to come check out the new tank now as it looks like it's doing so well!

As for the clams, well I have heard from good sources that most farms right now are mostly shipping out Maxima's as other species are in grow out stages, So I'm sure that the hobby will have more colorful clams in the near future.

Ahh this is good, the last clam type I need, and I need some variability! Haha.
