Mine has not bothered my squamosa. My friends has been in his 180 for almost a year, with 4 clams of different sizes and has not bothered them.
However they are butterflys. I think its important that they have a decent size tank with lots of live rock, producing natural food for them. Plus if they are also fed other food on a regular basis, they are less likely to pick at corals. Besides tank fare, mine eats mysis at least twice/day.
