Potentially it could be very much like stuffing money into your rock, especially in a tank as big as yours. No real special requirements, just a sand bed. My yasha eats mysis, Arcti pods, Cyclop-eeze and I think he eats the .5mm pellets

The pistol did come right out a few times, once when the camera refused to focus, once when I gave up and had just put the camera down and once just after the battery died
