It's all about selection and size. There are two basic shake downs for triggers: 1) those with upturned mouths who specialize in pelagic feeding and 2) those with downturned mouths who specialize in benthic feeding. You would want one with an upturned mouth in a reef since they are usually more docile. These guys include nigers, crosshatch, blue throats, pink tails, etc. those with downturned mouths include clowns, undulated, picasso, etc and are usually much more aggressive and not really reef safe at all.
