what trigger 's should I get for the new tank
well it seems tha lots of reefer's are getting some trigger's for their reef. pros and cons of having them.
what to have and what not to have.... |
It's all about selection and size. There are two basic shake downs for triggers: 1) those with upturned mouths who specialize in pelagic feeding and 2) those with downturned mouths who specialize in benthic feeding. You would want one with an upturned mouth in a reef since they are usually more docile. These guys include nigers, crosshatch, blue throats, pink tails, etc. those with downturned mouths include clowns, undulated, picasso, etc and are usually much more aggressive and not really reef safe at all.

even on those reef safe justin listed some are more reef safe than others, blue throats and crosshatch being more reef safe than pink tails and nigers

Both my Crosshatch and my Blue throat have been model citizens in my reef tank. Mind you...with the money I spent on the Crosshatch he should come out in the open more often and dance!

revgeoff, Do you have them in the same tank?
