The animals themselves are fine; its their feces and urine that you should be worried about. Just don't pick up/clean up litter or droppings and you should be fine.

In Med we're all taught the reasons behind WHY you shouldn't touch/clean etc animal feces and urine when pregenant. After being taught the information many people present it in different ways. 1 individual might demand that expecting parents get ride of the animal, while another suggests not touching/cleaning up after them. When in doubt, a second opinion or even a third plus some research of your own is always in your best interest.
