![]() Hello
I am looking for advice and suggestions for a new tank i am setting up. Its a 230 gallon 72"x24"x30". I think i want to go with 400w halides with T5s. I want to keep sps eventually so i want to start off with them. I am in the process of building a canopy for the tank with fans in it. So they do not have to look pretty . Any advice would be appreciated and if you know where i can get them that would be great. |

![]() I have same size tank with 3 lumanarc shades which provide perfect coverage of a 30 inch width.I used to have 4 PFO pendants but the 3 lumanarcs created an even more broader light distribution than the other 4 put together

![]() An enclosed canopy works great with our west coast climate, I vent outside it with an inline fan on a 3 speed switch; low in winter high in summer. Keeps our house dry, and mold free. It might not be so great in your cold climate though. I have three 400W halides in Lumenmax reflectors hanging inside, and I made it through last summer with only fans for cooling.
