May National Geographic
Anyone else read the NG magazine this month? There is an interesting article on colour and light in coral reefs. There is a bit of info on the web site too. Interesting stuff, and great photos.
May National Geograpic One interesting fact: apparently the Mantis shrimp can see 16 different light spectrums including UV and polarized. It has the most complex eyes of any animal.  No wonder they are so hard to catch when the come as hitchhikers

Yeah, I quite enjoyed that article. Had no idea the common, overlooked fish in the LFS was so interesting in the wild. Great shot of the juveniles diving into their cave.
