![]() Does anyone run multiple photo periods of a shorter time on there sps reefs
Eg. 2 4 hour periods I did some reading on this and people claimed faster growth but no pics to show |

The theory is that the corals ability to process light into food after certin amount of peak light hours requiring it to shut down. So after a rest it can process again Apparently by increasing cycles you would double growth rate. Basically two years of growth in one |

![]() Check out gaslamp method. Though its done for plants people report crazy growth while using less light. Sometimes less is more.

![]() I think there was a thread on rc that was showing the best growth on their frag tanks with 4 hours on, 4 hours off

![]() Ok I uploaded program to lights. I changed it to 4 hour max intensity but retained the 6 on 6 off. Just a longer ramp

Just a reference Orange grove is brown with green corilites Blue acro is brown with light blue color returning Red planet is green Shades of fall is white with reds coming into base Red convexa is orange with red tips Garf is pale blue tips brown polyp a Fuego is green with violet tips |
