Default Return pump advice

Single overflow, 44g tank, 1 1/2" drain, 3/4" return. Current pump came with the aquagiant setup 13 months ago, (Weipro WH-6000 - nominally 4000lph). It has cracked at the base of the outlet, and is leaking and losing head pressure.

I need to replace it. Suggestions for an appropriate in-sump replacement?

And, got one for sale?

Default return pump

Sorry Matt the pump I had is sold. Anyways Here is my advise. Go with a Mag 9.5 return pump. It has a 3/4" return fitting, pumps 950 GPH and from what I have heard they are bulletproof. The inlet/outlet plate is easily replaceable (would have fixed your problem) as well as the impeller. I am running a Mag 12 return on my 120G and a mag 7 on my Ev-180 skimmer. Both are working excellent and are very quiet. I wouldn't go smaller than the 9.5 as you can always divert flow back into the sump if wanted but if your pump is underpowered your stuck. The mag pumps can be run submersible or inline also. Hope this helps.

I personally use the Ocean Runners as they are very quite and have plenty of jam.

I haven't seen those around. Where can you source them?

I've narrowed it down so far to three:
Taam Rio HF-14
Danner Mag 9.5
Pentair Quiet One 4000

Are there opinions on any of these?

I have used rio and mag for my return pumps personally, they are not that quite IMHO. Reefwerkz has quiet ones on both there systems the large pump is noisy but the smaller pump is silent. Hope this helps.

I have had bad experience with the pentair. Mine is noisy and doesn't start everytime-I usualy have mess with it for a while to get it to start. The certain retailer where I bought it wasn't any help with warranty. I sent 3 emails to pentair with no response....won't buy thier product again. Just my experience though.
