![]() It depends on your local water conditions and what you want to keep. If your local water is clean but hard and you want to keep rift lake cichlids then I don't see R/O as being needed. However if you want to keep discus then yes R/O would be the ticket.

![]() Agreed on most of that exceopt for the discus. My water is hard and the PH is 7.6 to 7.8 ALL my discus do fine that. I only use R/O for breeding.

![]() Yup for sure, they can be aclimated to hard water but for breeding they need soft soft water, straight R/O is not suitable but with a tiny bit of remineralization they're good.
