![]() I had a koralia that was missing the rubber part. Must have been in the tank for 2 years. Never had any issues.

![]() To offer some experience on the other side of the fence:
I had a Tunze nanostream pump that developed a defect in the epoxy covering the magnet unbeknownst to me and it swelled and disintegrated in my tank, leaching rust into the tank.
