![]() Hey guys,
So, I wanted to figure this out. Since it's been 3 weeks since my tank has been running, figured I'd do some testing. So, there I went and took out my test kit. Everything tested ok, and then I get to the GH/KH test, and what do I do. I counted 24 drops of the GH solution before it turned blue and 18 drops of the KH solution before it turned yellow. GH is around 24x20 = 440 KH is around 18x10 = 180 So, i go, sweet, what do these really mean? I looked at the table on the back and it says: Conversion table: Multiply GH or KH by x 0.056 = dh or gh " " " " " x 0.07 = clark " " " " " x 0.1 = fh " " " " " x 1 = hardness " " " " " x 0.02 = mEq/L So, how do I get dKH out of this?? ________ no2 vaporizer review Last edited by moldrik; 01-24-2011 at 02:01 PM. |

![]() wondering if this is a Hagen kit. Also isn't GH more for freshwater. If so thought you got ppm, then could use this calculator to dKH.

![]() For SW only use the KH value which is in PPM. 180ppm x .056 = 10.08DKH. Looks good.
To get meq/l out of dkh you mulitply by 2.8. |

![]() The reason why I had asked was because GH x 0.058 and KH x 0.058 gives two completely different numbers, so I didn't know which one to use.
Yeah, it's a hagen kit. So it sounds like the water parameters are ok. Thanks. ________ Kawasaki ZL1000A Last edited by moldrik; 01-24-2011 at 02:01 PM. |
