Default how to raise pH?

how do i raise my pH on my tank?
what would cause my pH to be low?
would a low pH cause ick in my tank?
any help would be appreciated

How low? What is in your setup? Give us more info and we can give you better than guesses for answers...

-Lack of air movement in your house, with no good fresh air source
-If your running a calcium reactor, may be lowering your PH
-You have low Alk
-Aquarium is still new and cycling

Some ideas. But we do need more info like reeferaddict said.

Just my 2 cents.

In my tank when my ph reaches the point where I begin to get concerned (7.9) I add kalk or alkalinity buffer. I think the gradual lowering of ph indicated the consumption of Ca and Alk (carbonate hardness). In other words your buffering capacity is deminishing and its time to suppliment.
