around ph of 7.8

-Lack of air movement in your house, with no good fresh air source
-If your running a calcium reactor, may be lowering your PH
-You have low Alk
-Aquarium is still new and cycling

Some ideas. But we do need more info like reeferaddict said.

Just my 2 cents.

In my tank when my ph reaches the point where I begin to get concerned (7.9) I add kalk or alkalinity buffer. I think the gradual lowering of ph indicated the consumption of Ca and Alk (carbonate hardness). In other words your buffering capacity is deminishing and its time to suppliment.
