Default Thinking of staring a zoa/paly display tank

Just thinking of setting up a specialized display frag tank.

One of my main focus

For everyone to enjoy, and see the different corals in person.

I have access to various frags and paly's from my suppliers, but I am thinking of asking the public for donations of a head or 2 specifically for this tank.

NO corals will be sold from this tank, but anyone donating an unique frag not listed in the tank will receive a $25 store credit, or 2 frags in return.

Does this sound like something I should go forward with?

Input positive/negative would be appreciated.

Ken - BWA

Great idea Ken, always happy to see larger collections of zoas that avoid being knifed to single polyps. Grow out tank FTW!

I would love to send you some frags one day as a crash reserve for myself if your down for it.

While I think the idea might be a cool, one of my biggest pet peaves when I walk into a store is ( NFS ) I can unsderstand if the the fish is sick and needs time to recover.

Great sounding tank and would be fairly simple to maintain. You should look into going bare bottom and have the bottom covered in zoa/paly's.

That is why we have the incentive of free replacement frags or $$$.

Always thinking aren't you Wes?

I personally think it is a great idea. If a store had a breath taking display tank would it not get people into the hobby more? I think my display has persuade people into wanting more tank or want to get into sps at least. It would be easier as a store with access to all the livestock and equipment already. Another big thing i propagation i do a a lot of it if it is living and it looks like it can be cut with a saw why not try it. Its a good way to get aqua cultured livestock back into the system. If it was me i would load up a tank with a ati power module, some vortechs, and some ghl dosing pumps and controllers. Give people the first hand experience with it. I bet 95% of people who come over cant believe the light you got me can get the results it has.
