Thinking of staring a zoa/paly display tank

Just thinking of setting up a specialized display frag tank.

One of my main focus

For everyone to enjoy, and see the different corals in person.

I have access to various frags and paly's from my suppliers, but I am thinking of asking the public for donations of a head or 2 specifically for this tank.

NO corals will be sold from this tank, but anyone donating an unique frag not listed in the tank will receive a $25 store credit, or 2 frags in return.

Does this sound like something I should go forward with?

Input positive/negative would be appreciated.

Great idea Ken, always happy to see larger collections of zoas that avoid being knifed to single polyps. Grow out tank FTW!

I would love to send you some frags one day as a crash reserve for myself if your down for it.

While I think the idea might be a cool, one of my biggest pet peaves when I walk into a store is ( NFS ) I can unsderstand if the the fish is sick and needs time to recover.

Great sounding tank and would be fairly simple to maintain. You should look into going bare bottom and have the bottom covered in zoa/paly's.

I was actually thinking of all frags, just didn't change the title when I edited the post.

I have been designing shelving for our larger tanks, and a new light racking system which would allow us a multitude of lighting options.

Never thought of it as a "crash" repository, but it can work at that. Or at the least kinda a "Noah's Ark" of corals.

Only way any corals would be sold in this tank is "IF" they got too big, but the proceeds would go back to the fish community (ie. Help with Frag Fest expenses or prizes) or donated to a good cause or charity.

I've always been looking on a way to use that tank that is connected to our main DT, and think this would be an interesting move.

That is why we have the incentive of free replacement frags or $$$.

Always thinking aren't you Wes?
